I am delighted to be working half-time in the new Falmouth and Gwennap Circuit. After many years teaching in a secondary school I candidated for the ordained ministry from the old Falmouth Circuit, my home chapel being Ponsanooth. I spent four years in the Callington and Gunnislake Circuit on the edge of the river Tamar and near Dartmoor. This was mainly a rural ministry with many farming families and village chapels. After four years I was moved by Conference to the Newquay, Perranporth and St Agnes Circuit, which had not been able to secure a minister. We spent eleven years in Newquay, a very exciting time, with the opportunities to meet many different people, locals and visitors. I had two large town churches and one rural chapel so there was quite a mix of people and opportunities for the work of the gospel. I was pleased to be involved in a parent/carer/toddler group in one of the town churches, to be an Honorary Chaplain to the Royal British Legion and to be involved in many events locally. At present I am serving as the District Synod Secretary which is really good as I meet people across the District. It is very interesting and exciting to be part of the new Falmouth and Gwennap Circuit where my husband Phil and I have renewed old friendships and begun to make new friends. The new Falmouth and Gwennap Circuit is a very friendly and spirit-led place, and there is a real sense of welcome and purpose here.
