Wesley Cottage Summer 2017
From 3rd May until the end of October Wesley Cottage will be open for visitors every week from Tuesday to Saturday 10am-4pm. Complimentary refreshments are available. We also have the following special events:

Wesley Day Celebrations
Our celebrations this summer will take place on Sunday 21st May:
4pm open air service at the porch led by Rev Steve Wild
Reading of Wesley’s Conversion: Mr Michael Eavis CBE (Glastonbury Festival)
Preacher: Rev Alastair Bolt
Followed by: Tea in Altarnun Church Hall
6.30pm The Canworthy Water Minstrels will sing at Altarnun Parish Church
Followed by
7pm Worship in Altarnun Parish Church led by Rev Deryn Roberts and Mr John Hogarth

Wesley Cottage Study Days/Evening
Places are limited on our study days so advance booking is essential (telephone or email Wesley Cottage). Donations are welcome although there is no set charge to attend and a buffet lunch is provided. The following days with some of the finest communicators in Methodism are now open for booking:
· Thursday 1st June 7pm Study Evening: with Rev Roger Walton (President of the Methodist Conference)
· Monday 12th June 10am-3pm Study Day: "A Refreshing Look at the Four Alls for the 21st Century” with Rev Keith Garner AM. Further to his memorable Wesley Day preach a few years ago Keith will be visiting from Sydney Australia to help us explore the contemporary relevance of this teaching of John Wesley. (fully booked -waiting list open)
· Monday 10th July 10am-3pm Study Day: “It’s the Spirit’s Work” with Rev Paul Smith. Paul joins us to help us seek to understand more about the person and work of the Holy Spirit.
· Monday 25th September 10am-3pm Study Day: “Born in Song! - Methodism and Music” with Rev Brian Hoare. Wesley Cottage is delighted to welcome Brian a hymn writer and former President of Conference. The day will include singing and discussion and cover the following areas;
Session 1: A musical autobiography
Session 2: Music and the Bible
Session 3: Music in the Methodist tradition
Session 4: Contemporary trends in church music (fully booked-waiting list open)
